Full stack application

So I pretty much have all tools available at my disposal as I'm already a data engineer and do lots of stuff with python spark/etl/dataframes. I have visual studios as well and I've made a couple static websites with bootstrap.

I wanted to make an application that is powered off another applications database. This application needs to pull very specific information in a stream over our LAN (so it never needs to go outside our firewall). I also want to deliver front end visualzations to present drill down and roll up views of data (using maybe d3)

What is the best way to execute this? A .net application tapping into a kafka stream or …? I have legit no idea.
