Trying to work out how to design an equipment booking system
I'm trying to come up with an equipment booking system for my department. I'm not proficient in coding and programming yet, hopefully I'll be learning as I try and build something.
I'm trying to come up with a way of managing equipment. I need a way of booking equipment, that works using some sort of calendar system, using times and dates.
The issue is that we have multiple quantities of a piece of equipment. So say we have 10 of 'generic training equipment'. We might have two different teaching sessions, both who require the arms, but I need a way of deducting the quantity, so if anyone in the future tries to book the equipment 'within the same time period specified', it will tell them that all the equipment is currently in use and unavailable for the time and date they have requested.
What would be the best methodology for designing such a system? Would it be accomplished in Microsoft Access?
